STEVE GAROFALO'S  LAYOUT

The El  represents three stations, including the Ditmars Blvd. terminus, of the BMT Astoria line, going through Long Island City and Astoria Queens NY. Steve grew up a few blocks from the Ditmars Blvd. station, the last stop on the line. The Queensboro Plaza station is the last one in Queens for the Astoria line before it goes under the East River to Manhattan.   The buildings and signs on this layout were made to represent the actual buildings along the elevated tracks.   Many enjoyable hours were spent talking on the phone looking at images from GOOGLE earth and GOOGLE street view.  I have listed the buildings built by Model Building Services under the pictures.  All other street stores are by Elfen Models.    The El structures were made by Pat Fusco, owner of Steeltoys.com. and  weathered by Steve after installation.
